How to Induce Labor Naturally and Quickly For a Easier, Safer and Shorter Birth

Ugh...pregnancy? Been there and done that....two times. My second one came surprisingly easy and on time. My first pregnancy was one of those that you would have thought would never end. Not only did my daughter come late, the labor itself was long and exhausting. So, what was the difference between my two pregnancies? The answer lies in some things that help to inspire labor induction. In this article I intend to show you 4 common methods used by women who want to know how to induce labor naturally.

  1. Sex will induce pregnancy- It will. The science behind this is simple. The normal way of induction requires for the cervix to soften or dilate. Once your cervix is diluted, you will be able to conceive. There are several ways to soften or ripen the cervix. Sperm is one of those ways. Prostaglandins in the semen help to ripen the cervix to prepare you for labor. Some women will have a hard time having sex in their third trimester. The good news is that if you have trouble, you don't need the sex per say...you just need the sperm.

  2. Certain Foods are said to induce pregnancy- Old wives tale or true? The jury is still out on this one but studies have shown what you shouldn't eat right before labor....spicy food is loaded with a chemical called capsacin which will interfere with your natural endorphins (aka natural pain relievers) during labor. There are also some who believe that Pineapple will help to induce labor because it is said to contain certain things in it to help soften the cervix. There hasn't been any scientific studies to confirm whether food helps to induce labor.

  3. Can herbs help to induce labor?- There are no studies that confim or deny the effectiveness of herbs in regards to inducing labor. However, there is one thing you should note if you decide to go this route. While most people seem to agree that herbal and natural ways are better than the other ways, what most don't understand is that there are certain dangers that come with trying to induce labor with herbs. For example, black cohosh is thought by many mid-wives to help with labor induction. However, black cohosh is also a known blood thinner which could mean you could suffer a lot more blood loss during labor.

  4. Can Exercise help with labor induction? Pregnant women should exercise daily all the way through their tri-mesters (unless their practitioner says otherwise) because it will not only help with the problems that come from intense labor, there are some that think that even light exercise will help induce labor. When you walk (I know...I didn't want to walk either!), you are using gravity to help soften up your cervix.

  5. Does accupressure help induce labor?- Acupressure has not only been shown to help with inducing labor but has also been shown to help control other things like the time that your contractions last. Acupressure will help lower contractions (when done properly) by nearly three times without using them.

Tips on Picking Baby Gender - How to Choose the Sex of Your Baby

As much as many hopeful parents won't admit it, they do wish there was an easy and effective way of picking baby gender. It's natural for all moms and dads to feel lucky when they are fortunate enough to have a healthy baby, but truth be told, many of us have a definite preference when it comes to the baby's sex. If you are considering trying to conceive in the near future and you are one of the millions who wants to help sway Mother Nature so you get that baby boy or girl you want so badly, there is help for you. There are natural techniques you can use that will greatly improve your chances of choosing your baby's gender.

Timing plays a very important role in picking baby gender. It's obvious that male and female sperm are incredibly different. That also holds true when it comes to how quickly they move. Male sperm are the faster ones so if you want a boy you should try and conceive as close to the moment of ovulation as possible. If you have your heart set on being the parent of a little girl, you'll want to time lovemaking so it's before ovulation, since the female sperm outlive the male ones. You can determine ovulation time by either using an ovulation kit or by simply taking the woman's temperate before she gets out of bed each morning. Once the temperature changes, ovulation is approaching.

Diet plays a part when it comes to picking baby gender too. It's been said that women who want to have a boy should eat more calories. The more energy you consume, the greater the likelihood of conceiving a boy. So it stands to reason that women who are hoping for a daughter should eat a lower calorie diet right around the time they expect to conceive. Naturally, this doesn't mean that a woman determined to have a baby girl should eat a very low calorie diet, because that's simply not healthy. She can choose lower calorie foods though, such as fresh vegetables, fruits and fish. Women opting to try for a boy should consume more high carbohydrate foods to up their calorie intake.
